GMR

GMR location has 12 toll booths, 6 for each side of the traffic. They have already installed a system with cameras at each of these toll booths. Their MIS system is capturing images of the traffic from the video stream the image of the vehicle is grabbed. Their current system can see the images but cannot use the images as data. They are currently using the images for auditing purposes.

Efkon India is also looking at the same market of infrastructure and they have won the deals for Bandra- Worli Sea Link. Since there is massive investments going on in India, opportunities are likely to increase into the future in the vehicle management sector of toll plazas.

GMR needs an ANPR system which can recognize number plates and print those on the receipt at the toll both i .e. there is need to integrate it with their existing MIS. They recognize the fact that its not possible to guarantee 100% reading accuracy. They want ANPR systems for the following reasons:

• They want a system which will recognize/detect number plates, read them and export them in a format which they can integrate easily into their MIS to enable them to print on the receipt the number plate of the vehicle which is being issued a receipt.
• They want to use our ANPR system to track vehicles of TN Govt which are not paying toll but paying a lumpsum amounts in a whimsical fashion. They want to do this by entering the no's of the GOVT vehicles into the alert list and keep track of the movement of these vehicles.
• They also want to use this vehicles to track VIP vehicle movement. MLA's, MLC's, MP"S cars are exempted from toll. However they want to make sure that only those cars registered with them are allowed toll free access.
